The school based IEQ team identifies potential issues/concerns before they reach the level where occupants’ health and safety are at risk, provides an avenue of communication through which any concerned individual can report potential indoor environmental problems, and increases education and awareness of the importance of maintaining proper indoor environments.
The IEQ standardized walk-through reviews designated areas of the school. The walk-through team led by an IEQ School-based Team Leader is composed of a diverse representative group of HCPSS facilities personnel, school staff, parents, students and community members. The HCPSS IEQ Coordinator in the HCPSS Department of School Facilities monitors all school/facility teams.
Teachers and staff use the Teacher and Staff Checklist Classroom/Area Checklist to review their assigned areas of the school.
No staff classroom checklist summaries have been posted at this time. This new process will begin this coming school year.
Additional Information and research concerning indoor environmental quality can be found on the main HCPSS website.
